Unique in the north-west, Bells have their own custom-built smokehouse at their Carlisle headquarters.
This has extended the range of products supplied by Bells, one of the regions leading fishmongers and licensed game dealers, and applies to wholesale and retail customers alike.
With the exception of Loch Fyne kippers and Arbroath smokies which come ready-smoked, all other smoked products are carefully cured and smoked to our exacting high standards. To the traditional lines of salmon, rainbow trout, shellfish, chicken and duck we add more unusual products such as smoked venison, wild boar, and even smoked garlic. Both hot and cold smoking processes are used, adding additional flavours and textures to some of the most popular lines. Salmon, for example, comes in traditional cold smoked forms as well as the more unusual hot smoked salmon, effectively kiln roasted, that we have borrowed from Scandinavia. And, of course, we will smoke products to your specific requirements.
At Bells you can order whole sides of smoked salmon, pre-sliced sides or smaller, portion controlled packs. Our merchandise normally comes fully branded, bearing the Bells recognised guarantee of satisfaction, but it can be branded with your own logo and even price, date and weight marked before it leaves our premises.
